Leaning against the first foothills of the Alpes de Provence in the Haut-Var, Villecroze is a charming medieval village. The old village is classified "Village de Caractère du Var": it has preserved its authenticity and medieval character. It can be discovered on foot. We are in a real labyrinth of narrow streets with vaulted passages, arcades, squares, campanile (the old dungeon that adjoins the castle).
Tourtour deserves, without a doubt, site classified among the most beautiful villages in France Living up to its nickname "village in the sky of Provence", Tourtour is perched at an altitude of 635 m on the Beau Soleil, named after its hill. From the village, you have impressive views over the Moyen Var to the Sainte-Baume massif and the SainteVictoire mountain.
Situated in the Verdon Regional Natural Park, on the Valensole plateau, the pretty little town of Riez has preserved an important heritage from its rich past. The remains of a Roman temple and an early Christian baptistery bear witness to this, as do the fortified gates, the ramparts, the clock tower and the old houses - including the Renaissance mansion of Mazan - of the historic town. Visiting Riez is also an opportunity to visit its various shops offering arts and crafts and local products...
Eternal Provence, the one we imagine and dream about, seems to have taken its place here, south of the Alpes de Haute-Provence. Built on a hillside, the pretty village of Valensole unfolds its typical narrow streets, lined with houses with whitewashed walls and colorful shutters. The surrounding countryside (the Plateau de Valensole) is beautiful, especially in spring when the almond trees are in bloom. In summer you will appreciate the scent of lavender and thyme that perfume the air because Valensole is one of the high places of lavender production in Provence.
