Private tour - Sur les pas de Cézanne
Aix en Provence
Discover Aix and its sumptuous 17th and 18th century architecture, its squares and fountains, its sunny terraces and markets, its lively streets with attractive shop windows. You will of course see the famous Cours Mirabeau, a carriage yard designed in the 17th century for the rich and powerful of the city, the very elegant City Hall due to Pierre Pavillon, the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral and its very rare baptistery and many other treasures...
Paul Cézanne was born on 19 January 1839 in Aix-enProvence and died on 22 October 1906 in the same city. He was a French painter, a member of the Impressionist movement for a time, and considered to be the precursor of post-impressionism and cubism. It is on the hill of Lauves, among the objects that are dear to him, the models of his last still life, his furniture, his working material, that you feel the presence of the painter.
La Sainte Victoire
The Sainte Victoire massif stretches between Aix en Provence and Pourrières as a link between the Var and the Bouches du Rhône. But the Sainte Victoire is known worldwide as the favorite model of the painter Cézanne who immortalized it on more than 80 canvases. Today, you can hike to discover the painter's favorite places or visit his studio, which has been left untouched since his death.
